If you have the help lined up, go! I found out my wife was pregnant with our first child right before I went overseas. I spent all but the last 3 days of her pregnancy with my namesake away. Made it home 3 days before he was born in Houston. She was on bed rest the last month, almost got kicked out of the place she was staying by her stepmom, yet we still have a straight A and healthy son. Food for thought, if she's strong, and there is good help nearby, have at it.

I know what my wife would say to me (Go and have fun) and I also know how she would really feel (I cannot believe he went hunting while I'm bed ridden). We argue from time to time in a healthy way. This would come up even when I'm dead and gone.

I would not go. Not for me being scared of my wife of course but because she needed me. Your situation may be totally different. Best of luck on making the right call.
