    Truck windows having problems?

I think my windows are going out on my truck. They are slowing and seem to have a really hard time going back up. nearly didnt get one back up yesterday. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen? Did you replace the motor and the regulator or just the motor? Im trying to find out the likelihood of the regulators failing?

    thanks

    Try lubing the track

Mechanical regs no problem, cabled regulators fail always. And if it's cabled, the assembly does not cost much more than just the motor

My 2004 Chevy has had one window doing that since 2005. It is really bad when it is cold and not too bad when it is warm. Mine seems like it is binding. Maybe if I greased the track it would work better.

Happened recently on my 04 Chevy. Just replaced the reg, the motor was still good. Took about 15 minutes to do. I would recommend buying the regulator at the dealership. I went to O'Reilly first and the one they gave me literally fell apart in my hands

No, I just skipped to the bottom and replied. I thought that was how it works here. Gonna go check my window fluid too since you mentioned it.

Its a 2003 Tahoe. Any idea if they are mech or cabled? I got quoted 36 for motor and 86 with regulator.

i don't think they are binding. Just not enough power to get them up.

I may look into this. They are quoting 1.5 hrs each door !

Most of what I found online tells me that I don't want to do it myself. But nothing about how to figure out if I need to replace the motor or regulator or both?

sounds like the muffler bearing may be going out.
