That is the cabled type regulator. I would definitely replace regulator with motor. Those reg's break all the time. GM, Ford, Chry, Jeep. All the same design. That Tahoe is rather simple, the hardest part getting the panel off without damage. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it to a shop. Better than having a busted panel. good luck

its not that hard to do. You can take a 12 volt battery and jump the motor to see if its bad or not if its ok then its the regulator.
