Hypocrits when it comes to wild game.....

I cooked a wild hog ham and a whole deer backstrap on the smoker and brought it to a gathering. There were several there that were anti's when it comes to eating wild game. I brought the smoked meat and put it with the rest of the fixins. Needless to say they made there plates and eat and nobody figured it out untill it was to late. They never had a clue untill my son told his aunt the meat she had eaten was wild game. She started freaking out and saying she was going to be sick. It is sure funny watching them eat and "compliment" the meat then someone says wild game and they "freak." I will never be trusted by them from now on when i bring something. Some people will not even give it a chance. I done this just to prove a point. The point is some people are just hypocrits!!! Have you seen this happen before?

Yep. Several times. Fortunately, most of the people I "snuck it in on" had enough integrity to admit they were wrong about wild meat.

Oh man, I got into deep do-do with my sister doing that exact same thing

She said wow, the ribs are small, but man they are good.

I said, good, then you don't have any problem eatin wild pig then... She freaked out! We got into a huge argument, but man, it sure was funny

Years ago my SIL absolutely raved about the link sausage I had cooked, until she found out it was deer. She has never eaten it again. Go figure.

Yes, I have seen it happen before and still don't understand it.........There are tons of things people eat every day that they wouldn't eat if they knew what was in the mix!!!!!!!!!

I think it's best not to trick people. Ya don't generally win friends by doing it and rarely will anyone admit they were wrong. Sure would **** me off if someone tricked me into eatin tofu or birch bark. Just sayin...

These people would be the first to beg you for wild game if they could not get the farm raised stuff.

Most humans are humocrits if you ask me. I am sure they would not eat a Hippo either, thus the humocrits. You have got to be PC when dealing with humocrits.

I don't share my wild game anymore..that is for family only. Let them go to Burger King for the good stuff.

had our annual Church Homecoming today. I was in line and this lady told me "you really have to be careful about what you pick around here because it may not have have been purchased at the store." Soo, we was going down the tables full of countless dishes and she saw this big roaster of wonderful looking meatloaf w/all the trimmings added to the sides. She got herself a generous helping and I did likewise(100% deer meat, made by my wife that morning) After all the eating was mostly finished I walked by her as she was getting up to throw away her licked looking plate.. I had to do it. I said the deer meatloaf was good, huh. She said, " I knew I'd get tricked again, I'm not coming anymore."
                          I loved it

I fried up some moose back strap in college for a girlfriend who hated hunting of any kind. I didn't tell her what is was until after the dishes were done. She had commented on how good it was....said she wouldn't knowingly eat it again.

I keep in touch with this one to this day, she believes that hunting in Africa is a bad thing and that I shouldn't go...told her I would send plenty of pics when I get back.
