Watch out when selling stuff on Craigslist

I've only tried to see one item on CL and 54 responses were scams.

I've not used PayPal for any transaction for 10 years. I had to get a PP account for eBay when it first became popular, and didn't like how it worked. Why would somebody want to buy a vehicle by PayPal? They need to see it, drive it, and then drive/tow it home. Cash or a check and we go together to a branch of HIS bank to cash it. Cashola is King.

PayPal happens to be located 10 miles from my home, and I still don't like it.

probably 5 scammers to every real response is what I usually get

Wish my numbers were that good. No scammers just lots of people saying, Ill be there at 1 then texting at 130 with some excuse. One from this site!

Friendly reminder to be very skeptical of anyone offering to pay through PayPal. Pretty sure I just had a guy try to scam me

Word of warning, do cash only, fake Money Orders and Cashiers Checks can now be made with a computer.

I thought PayPal was a safe way to do a transaction since you are covered. Also you won't release the truck until payment clears.

The scam here is that the thief sends you a link to their P/P and that is a false site that allows them to get your personal info.

I never put my phone number on any transaction. If they give me an email and it is too heavy to move we exchange numbers then I have them meet me at a location not at my address. I then lead them 10 min to my house. That way they cannot just show whenever they want initially. I have had people answer Hou CL from LA and AR when I was selling walkin cooler panels. Trust no one at their word on the Internet. Not paranoid just cautious.

I find it pretty funny that the scammers always have horrible grammar.
