I returned from south africa yesterday and had the absolute best time of my life. I killed 6 animals and somehow managed to wound 2 blue wildebeast. I hit both of them right where i was aiming and just didnt get any penetration.
I Killed a 54 1/2 inch kudu with one of his hornes broke off a little but he is the coolest animal ever. I also killed a 27 1/2 inch waterbuck, a 35 inch gemsuck bull, a really nice 24 inch impala, a nice warthog and a huge baboon. I shot the 1.5 inch striker mags and really liked the hole they make but i will never shoot them at larger animals such as blue wildebeast again. i didnt get a complete pass through on my kudu or my waterbuck however neither of them ran over 50 yards and i watched both of them fall. Both of the blue wildibeast i shot look perfect on film but they only got like 6 inches of penetration and i really believe that if i would have been shooting the regular strikers that they would both be dead right now. Other than that i shot really good and none of my other animals ran over 75 yards. My dad shot a huge Eland bull, a warthog and a blue wildebeast. After he shot his eland he didnt hunt very hard though. thats all he went to africa for. I cannot tell you how amazing dries visser safaris was. the food was great the people were amazing and anything else you could think of was top notch. I cannot wait to go back. next time im going for lepoard and plains game i cannot wait. That will be a few years though since the price tag for a lepoard is a little high. I will get pics posted as soon as i can. So all you guy that are going to tell me this thread is worthless without them just be patient they are comming.
