This thread is years old, but here's a bump.

LloydMcCoy, I am unable to send PMs or emails (my post count isn't high enough), but am interested in details about that gate lock. Could you help me out?

                Good to hear from you.

Did you have any plans for that lock? I've got a guy that's welding up a gate for me, and would like to include this kind of lock on it. I've got 2 folks that access the area plus a contractor lock, so would need 3 locks. Thanks for replying.

No plans just had it done with some sketches. The first sleeve is welded and so is the last on. The ones between are free floating

On our right of ways at work we just use chain but we do not lock to lock always 90 degrees apart.

                      They kept cutting the chain.

The design sounds relatively simple to fabricate, if you've got access to (and skills to run) a welder.

If you remember, what kind and thickness of steel was used? And were the sleeves custom fabricated, or were they purchased already made?

Thanks again for putting up with my questions. I appreciate it!

                            1/4 flat steel for frame.
                            3/4" pipe for sleeves.
3/4 bar stock for sliding pin
3/16" flat stock for padlock plates.
