Oral surgery for wisdom teeth is dental insurance and was never covered by health insurance.

Quac, first off, you have my sincere empathy for your current situation. I can't imagine what your family is going through. The Tax credit that you speak of, who pays that portion?

the problem is that many people do have dental insurance as an add-on to a health policy.

and now that their old policy has been canceled thanks to the genius at 1600, and a new waiting period kicks in, they now have a year WITHOUT coverage that they had before.

The highest deductible I have ever had was $550 for the family and $175 for individual. I work for two chemical companies the last 20 years. How in the world can anyone afford a $6500 deductible after paying those premiums all year.

Not in my case, mine was covered by medical. I had already meet my total out of pocket for the year and did not cost me a dime.

                    I wonder?
Once it is in full effect, will the hospitals turn away the folks that do t have it or don't have the money to pay their deductible ?

Right now if someone gets the flu, they can go to the hospital if they don't want to pay a doctor bill.

Yes again we do have to pay the first $6500 but after that we are 100% paid for the year. With Trina probably going through chemo again this year we and her having another surgery this coming monday we will easly use more than the $6500.
So, after you pay 30.8% of your gross income, they'll start picking up the tab?
Doesn't sound too affordable to me.

I'm very sorry to hear about your wife. You both will be in my prayers.

I was told by an officer in the Dfac yesterday, while watching the news at the table with me, that the more folks signing up brings the rates down. Not sure how much he understood the AHCA.

Here in the small state(pop. About 2 million) I live in 38 of the Obamacare navigators are in the FBI crime database.

Among the charges that popped up on the FBI criminal database were eight domestic violence charges, four drug charges, two larceny charges, one petty theft charge, one shoplifting charge and two child abuse charges.

Simple fact about gov HC is this,
It ensures that every citizen is now a slave to them
Since welfare and social security were enacted they had one goal and that was to eventually make every citizen rely on Washington DC.
With HC, FREEDOM of choice is gone, quality is gone, and this countries economic future is gone. Sure there will be stories of how this HC has " helped " someone here or there but at what expense? My kids future? A person get a " tax credit " to pay for their outrageous premiums, will I get a thank you, hell no! Credits are paid by other citizens, not the government. The freakin gov does not have money, so these credits are paid by me, and others who will never get this credit. I work two jobs so that I can provide a little extra for my family and guess what, I'm the idiot/ target in this country, not the mooch.
The only reason HC was expensive in the last was because
Of Gov. Mandates placed on the insurance companies. EVERY TIME GOV. sticks it's grimey hands on something it ruins it.
