Dang y'all went all out.. Ive seen folks pay for them in a year and go to making money fast.. They don't have to be perfect or prime real estate nor does anyone have to be there 24/7. I've seen a few open 1 day a week or by appointment. Boat, Rv & Vehicle storage is a great game as well.

Stay away from anything under $25k... maybe from 90% of them under 50k.

Thing is, the franchisor just can't afford to hold your hand (or even give you what you really need) at those prices.
AJ,what's the deal with Jiffy Lubes? I was told by a guy that builds them, that the franchise is very shady...The franchisee puts his money in,and he's on a short leash,(so to speak) then there's no way a new franchise can meet the quota Jiffy Lube demands, and they repo, and repeat the process with the new franchisee...Any truth to that?

I am sure it would cost a ton, but I think the safest franchise is a Chick-Fil-A. I have never seen one not doing great business.
Last I heard, Chickfila's are $5k to franchise, but you have to go through a lot of interview's to be accepted to franchise one. http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Company/F...se-Opportunity

Subway's are roughly $72k to franchise...

It isn't something you can buy/sell, because you don't own it.

Neither of these posts are accurate. The Longview, TX franchisee owns two locations.

Always wanted to own an extermination company and call it Pest Off.

My slogan would be, " Got creepy crawlers? Don't get mad, get PEST OFF" !!!

Chik Fil a franchise is only 5000. But from what I understand its a very long process and includes working and managing for them. Its a different process than most, but the applicant is so far into by the time rolls arou d is the reason they are usually successfull. My cousins husband is going through the process.

                        Article form 2011 I found.

This would be somthing I would look into... they're always busy and the minimal menu keeps the cost down!

Also, anyone have any experience with Firework stands?

                            Rental properties are good too!

I have a full time day job but over the years have purchased 4 rental properties here in Austin - the rents more than cover the mortgage/taxes and they appreciate from 2% to 10% each year. I manage them myself and other than 1 or 2 situations, it's been pretty manageable. Interest rates are still low and there are opportunities (Note: I'm not a realtor

I saw an ice box for sale and for the life of me can't remember where. It was $75k + cost of land/lot and moving it. Even at $75k, I wonder what the ROI would be??
