900 is pretty low...no wonder you're dropping weight that quick. Great job on the weight loss...sounds like you've found something that works for you. What they're basically selling is pre-portioned amounts of food that will keep you at or under your daily caloric needs to lose the weight.

The MyFitnessPal app works well if you're strict and honest about logging everything and probably a cheaper alternative if you want to prepare your own food...but it's a chore and not as easy as buying the pre-portioned meals.

I list about 50lbs 5-6 years ago by changing to a balanced diet with reasonable portions and without tons of fast food and junk/fatty foods and more exercise. I eat lots of meat (especially game) and vegetables and limit at he potatoes and pasta and starches and I don't gorge myself. If I want seconds, I wait 10 minutes before I get them. Usually, I find that I'm not interested in then 10 minutes later - I feel full. If I'm still hungry, I'll eat more. Didn't happen overnight but I've maintained the weight loss and the lifestyle.

I keep seeing reports about how "unhealthy" diets and dieting are. I hope it works for y'all but be careful.
I understand what you are saying about diet and exercise. Here is my story. At my biggest that i know of i was 265. I was doing juijitsu and other mma type stuff for a couple of years during the evening. With two young kids it got harder and harder to make it to the gym at night. I truly wanted to be with my kids vs going to the gym. The gym I was going to went through some changes that I didnt care for. So I went on the hunt to find a new gym. I decided on juijitsu gym that was relativly close to my work and they had lunch classes. I decided to start going during my lunch time. That was around Sept. I have consistently been going around 5 times a week. At the beginning of this year they announced a weight loss competition for 3 months (winner gets a year membership). I knew in my mind there is no way I am ever going to be able to win a grand championship jujitsu title. But i sure could win a weight loss competition. So i weighed in.

I also used to own a mowing business and definetly exercised doing that for many years.

I would say for a while I have been a fit fat guy.

Not trying to nitpick but technically anything you intake is a "diet". You can eat an all-skittles diet, or an all beer diet, or waiting 10 minutes between seconds diet.

You're body needs a certain amount of calories to function and if you keep your caloric intake below that amount you're body will shed its reserves (in fat & some muscle) to make up the deficit. You see all these articles of people losing tons of weight eating nothing but twinkies for a year or nothing but McDonalds. That's because at the end of the day their daily caloric intake was less than what their bodies required to function. Certain "diets" are "healthier" than others as they give you more essential vitamins and nutrients that your body needs but if people would just be more mindful about the quantity of food they eat and how calorically dense their food is they could manage their weight relatively easily. And you're absolutely right...throwing in some exercise isn't a bad idea either

I'll explain the "diet thing" to you from a fat guy who comes from an obese family. "Eat healthy and exercise." That's great, i hear it all the time. Problem is the definition of healthy, and healthy portions. Nobody ever went into my grandmother's house without eating before they left, she wouldn't allow it. All home cooked, good eating food.....grandpa ate her cooking 3 times a day and was healthy as a horse. She weighed 300+. That's because Grandpa worked his tail off, long hours, long Weeks. She stayed home with the kids. There's your exercise element.

My dad, raised in her household, is the same way, you don't leave his house hungry, he won't allow it.

I'm a bit different than them, I'm not in the business of feeding the whole neighborhood, i already feed half the population in the form of welfare. That being said, if i invite you to my house for dinner, you're in for some good groceries. I cook with Grandma's, and Mom's recipes, and those ladies could flat cook now! Unfortunately, they didn't have a care in the world about how many carbs were in the gravy, how much fat was in the chicken fried steak, or how many calories were in the sweet tea. It didn't matter then, folks worked, physically worked back then, and kids played physically active games then, they could burn the calories. Now days, most of us fat guys spend most of our time on our butts, and kids play video games instead of sandlot baseball. Those are hard habits to break.

I don't know how to cook healthy, all the recipes passed down to me are the exact opposite of healthy. Any healthy recipe i find, just doesn't add up to Moms chicken fry, or Grandmas biscuits and gravy (with sausage and bacon grease). So in order to learn how I'm supposed to eat, and retrain my body and taste buds to crave healthy foods instead of the old family recipes, i have to get on a "diet" of some sort.

That's the reason for the "diet thing" for me anyway.

Heck yeah! Good job buddy!! Keep it up. Sometimes you need a "diet" to jump start you on the right way of eating. Your results are incredible. Is the food something that you think you will be able to translate to real world after this? Are the pills RX?

The only pills are vitamins. They are just ordinary vitamins. You could easily get them at any store.

Even better. Well it sounds like something that could translate to real life after the diet. Good luck! I have a friend I may suggest this too. He is having a hard time with his blood pressure due to weight.

Congrats! Like some have said, its a lifestyle change. Hopefully you have given yourself that jumpstart that you needed to change your old habits. I havent found it yet. I am around 275 now. Desk job and long hours have put about 45 lbs on me in the last few years. "Eat right and exercise" sounds great but isnt easy, heck it sure aint fun! I can lose 30 pounds pretty quick, but I get stressed out and go back to my old habits and I am right back where I started. So again, congrats and thanks for the heads up. I may give your program a look and maybe it will be the catalyst I need.

I have a friend that is a doctor. She just opened a new office in Nederland named Ultimate U. She bases all of her planning on the ideal system. She says it is by far the best plan out there.

She also says that it works easier for men.

I was told that you are not to exercise but I do juijitsu 5 days a week. Around a hour each day.

I have juijitsu goals as well as other goals that is why I keep doing it.
