    Ideal Protein Diet???

Anyone ever done this diet plan? Any results?

I am going to start it on Thursday.

Its a plan that you have to buy their food and stuff. I know of 5 people that have done it. 4 of them lost weight and 1 stopped doing it right away.

    What I do know is:
Girl lost around 30lbs in 2 months
Big guy (aprox. 375lb) lost around 75lbs in 3-4months.
Other 2 lost weight but i dont know how much.

    Thanks.

I would be extremely wary of big weight drops. Not healthy and most of that is water weight along with muscle.

Ideal healthy FAT LOSS should be 2-3 lbs a week at the most.

    Remember its a marathon(lifestyle change) and not a diet(temporary)

My FIL runs a large medical clinic and the staff there loves it. I watched him drop a ton of weight and keep it off. I also saw his brother gain I it all back after continuing old habits .

This is the issue with any weight loss plan.....some people change their life to a NEW person and some do it for a short time then stop and gain it all back.

No weight loss will be permanent if you don't make a lifestyle change. It's as simple as that.

Just wanted to give an update.

            Started at 243.4 lbs
            Week 1 weigh in 234
            Week 2 weigh in 228
            Week 3 weigh in 222
            Week 4 weigh in 215.4
            Week 5 weigh in 213.2
            Week 6 weigh in 210.6
            Week 7 weigh in 204.4

I am Very suprised on the weight loss. It has not been hard at all. I just follow what I am supposed to eat and I am not hungry. I was in a tight 38 pant (refused to buy a 40) and now i fit in 34 pants. Size 36 pants i can easly slide out of them without unbuttoning them.

When I first started the nutrionalist asked me what I would like my end goal to be. I said 200 and i really thought that was way out of reach. I am knocking on its door. I weigh in today and hopefully i will reach it but i dont plan on quitting yet.

Congrats bud. Just please know your healthy limit.

My real close buddy lost 50 pounds on that diet at about the same rate your going. Sorry to say but everyone that knows him agrees with me, he's looking sick and unhealthy. He's almost pail in color and he's always freezing cold. Sad thing is he thinks he still has to lose more. My wife's ex boss is looking the exact same way.

Just my opinion though and to each there own.

At the place I go it is $275 to start. That includes 2 weeks of Breakfast, Lunch, & Snack. It also includes a month of vitamins.

After that it is approx. $80 a week for food. (Breakfast, Lunch, Snack)
And approx. $50 a month for vitamins.

It also includes weekly weigh-ins. They tell you weight, body fat, water, etc...

If he isn't doing so now, he needs to introduce health carbs back into his diet

i did the protein diet a few years ago. lost a ton of weigh. as soon as i got off the diet, most of it came back. now, I've tried to change my habits and eat better. this is what i do now. works for me. I'm not hungry and don't feel like "I'm on a diet" or think "oh, i can't have that"

eat what u want, but less of it. eat several times a day. walk as much as you can. take the stairs. cut out sodas and beer. cutting a 6 pack of coke out of you diet every day will cut your calorie intake by about 800 calories. diet coke sux. diet dr pepper sux. diet a&w is really good. so is diet sunkist.

I've lost 22 pounds since feb 1st by following this plan. works for me.

if you want a cheeseburger, eat one, but get a kids meal. apple slices instead of fries. have a cheat day once per week. if you are gonna cheat, do it all the same day. if you gotta have mexican food and beer, all at the same time. don't go to hartz buffet and lose your mind, but eat what u want. eat bad at lunch time, that way you have the rest of the day to burn it off. eat your dessert at lunchtime.

small portions is the key. cut everything you eat (meals) in half. if you eat 2 eggs, 2 bacon 2 toast for breakfast, now only have one of each. but, eat a handful of peanuts or an apple 2-3 hours later. have a boiled egg or a handful of grapes between lunch and dinner. when i go out to eat, whatever i order, i only eat half. put half of your dinner in a to go box AS SOON AS THEY BRING IT TO THE TABLE. now you got lunch for tomorrow. make dinner your lightest meal. nothing "white" after lunchtime. no sugar, bread, rice, potatoes, noodles. protein and green for dinner. have more fruit for your b4 bedtime snack.

the first week may be tough, but it aint that bad. get into a routine. plan your meals. change your habits, don't "go on a diet" diets fail. habits are hard to break.

I feel great. I understand what you are saying though.

I even stopped taking one of my diabetes medicines. Sugar has been perfect since I got off.
