I dont want an automatic... Give me a pump! I get as excited as a fat girl at the carnival when I start shooting at birds. For some reason I just keep shootin and I couldn't hit a bull in the ace with a base fiddle. I need to be able to pump and refocus on my target. I'll stick with my 870. I recently borrowed a Benelli on a goose hunt and shot 4 boxes shells and I'm not sure I ever cut a feather.

can't blame that on the shotgun... Like Phil says, he wants a shotgun to do 3 things, "Boom, Boom, Boom..." I spect the rest is up to you... I do agree a pump, even a double barrel does make you focus better... I tend to have the same problem. Have not taken either of my Benelli's bird hunting yet. Would love to quail hunt with 'em... got a tube on my 20ga. M2... holds 10+1... ought to be able to get a whole covey on the rise...
LOL! If there was a "best" shotgun, bow, rifle, or handgun there would only be one manufacturer and the others would all go bankrupt. Each product serves a purpose in the market.
The Benelli M1 (H&K import) is the best recoil operated auto
The Beretta 390 is the king of gas operated auto
The 870 wingmaster & pre-64 model 12 made the pumps
Over & Under shotguns has way too long a list & too may choices / fits...I will say the best of the O/U's are going to cost a ton of money and cannot be bought at Academy!!
I have all brands of shotguns at the house. for protection at the house not much better than an 870. In the field my got gun is a Beretta. Both my kids shoot Beretta. They will cycle dirty better than most other autoloaders in my opinion.
