    Crappie bait

The water below my dock is about 12 ft deep.
And very rocky. Other than the Christmas tree thing
Y'all give me some ideas on bait to bring em in.
Water still a little cold to bring em into the nest areas.

I've had better luck with the black PVC and roughing it up with sandpaper so algae will grow on it faster. I like to use willow oak or sweet gun for piles primarily. I've never made a great Christmas tree pile.

I like the pvc stuff better, less to get hung up on. I used to love jigging old Christmas trees off our dock but hated getting hung up so much.

In addition to the crappie habitats above you can also sink a hay bale; you can use the hay grazer no need to use alfalfa. The hay will start growing algae very quickly and bring in the bait fish.

I dont have pics rigjt now but you will get the picture, we caught ALOT bigger crappie on average when we switched from christmas tree's to these.

Find some bamboo growing and get permission to cut it (shouldnt be hard, ive never been turned down when i've asked to cut some)

Next get 5 gallon buckets, trash bags and bags of quickrete. Put 1 plastic bag over your 5 gal bucket and fill it with quickrete and mix it up, stuff as many pieces of bamboo in the bucket as you can and let it set........

Go dump em out wherever you plan on fishing and your done, give em a couple days and viola, crappie!

Check the regs to make sure it is legal to dump brush piles in the lake.
