    Alfalfa for attractant

I put out a bale a week ago and the deer are tearing it up. Anyone else try this before? They like it better than corn.

Yes, once they eat it once they'll always tear it up. In rocksprings they'll almost eat it out of your hand

I have when it was dry and once they got it they destroyed it but it took them a little bit to take to it.

At my lease in Comfort, I can put it out on one section of the lease and it is gone as fast as I out it out, on the other side it will generally mold before it is ate. 2400ac I often wonder about this

            That's easy!

All your deer run to the first pile you out out and get full and get back to the other side really slow, by then it's moldy on that side so they don't touch it

We did this two weeks ago, they ate around the alfalfa to get the corn. Went out to the lease on Friday afternoon to check things out and they haven't touched it still. Who knows.

Oh yeah. We made feeders to put the bale in. Every lease we have been on they killed it.

I use it at my place. Works pretty good.

Did you leave it as a whole bale? If so try pulling it apart in pieces and spread all around. Sometimes the big bales will scare them as they are not use to them.

Been using it for years. It may sit there for weeks untouched but once they start hitting it, the bale seems to vanish pretty quickly.

                          Do the hogs hit it?

Yep I use it all the time. Alfalfa and apples is the perfect recipe to attract big deer.
