    Day 1

I'm burning on 2.5 hours of sleep but I did this to myself, so now I have to pay for it.

Addiction is a brutal choice. Glad you're choosing otherwise.

      Congrats.

I believe that God works in mysterious ways and there is a reason I clicked on this thread this morning. A dear friend of ours is about to go to prison, likely after today at his arraignment, for being stupid while drinking. He had a car accident while intoxicated and though his injuries were far worse than the other person involved, he never should have been driving. He is not the type of person that does bad things, he just made a bad choice one night and will pay dearly for it. Since then, he has turned his life around, going to AA meetings, involved in the community and his church, and has been sober. That does not seem to matter to the courts and it looks like he will be doing time. It is a very sad and unfortunate situation. I do believe that he has to pay for his mistake, just very heartbroken that such a fine young man has ruined his life by making one bad choice. By the way, this was his first offense.
Having said all of this, I pray that you find the strength to stay sober because even good people can do bad things and it only takes that one time to ruin your life!
God give you strength and courage to continue on your journey. Alcohol is not worth it!

I have no idea what your going through but I will pray that the Lord sends you some comfort. Remember to get rid of a habit you must put something constructive back in its place.

You can do this. Every time you think about drinking, put on some running shoes and go for a jog or walk. Wear yourself out.
