does ar 13 inch rule make since??

so been in the biz for years and have had this conversation with many state biologist and most agree that if you only shoot deer over 13 inches wide then all you are left to breed with are deer with less than 13 inch genetics! how does that make since. you have to put in the age equation or it dont work. i know the reason is the state dont think the average joe can age deer but a 4 year old 11 inch wide buck is a detriment to the gene pool! so lets hear it!

The 13" rule has help build the population in Milam County. I know 20 years ago you couldn't hardly find a deer anywhere. I have to assume that is due to this rule.

Not every deer over 13 inches will be shot, so you will never be left with nothing but bucks under 13 inches.

And 11 inch yearlings with 9 points and 11 inch spread would for sure be shot, and never ever breed without antler restrictions.

The system works fine, and there are more and more super deer to prove it. Your breeding philosophy if way off.

The deer I killed this year was the biggest deer ever killed on our place.

        The AR works!

Your argument is about 3 or 4 years too late.
There is already improvement in quantity and quality in the AR counties. Every year people are killing deer that are bigger and better than anything killed for the last 20 years or so.

Can you please explain how it doesn't work. In detail.

There is WAYYYY too much evidence that it in fact does work. And that is based on the number of deer killed, and the number of mature over 13 inch spread bucks.
