Yes I own the place but it's raw land so at least I don't have crops or fields to worry about that the moment. That being said, most of the TBH'r comments here are making it loud and clear that I need to be concerned. As I said I haven't seen any on game camera's yet which are pointed toward my feeders. Not sure why that is as I know Pigs love corn... The rooting signs are getting more and more prevalent so I guess it's only a matter of time.. it started out as a small area under a large Oak at first so I dismissed it as possible armadillo rooting. However, over the last month some big chunks of field are all torn up and I have no doubt it's from pigs. I only get out about once per month. Wondering if I should set up a few corral traps...

The reason they aren't hitting the feeders is because of the acorns on the ground. This time of the year they become less frequent at ours also. Late decemeber and early January when everything else is gone they should be like clock work on feeders.

What you describe sounds like a pig or two. When you get a sounder of them out there they will till a 5-10 ac field overnight. Like previously said, this make for a bumpy ride Set up the machine gun and let them have it. KAP

Agreed but it's only a matter of time before those numbers increase significantly I suppose..

They are really fun at first, but after you kill about 10 they just get annoying

This is just the start of it. Be prepared to put hog panels around your feeders. I waited as long as I could before I did it. They started controlling the feeder and the deer went elsewhere.

I hunt outside Kempner on occasion, we killed our first hog last year. Thought it was just a lone boar but this year we've gotten a few pics of onesies and twosies. I'm happy but the land owner isn't lol

Am I crazy for being happy about this? The way I see it - hunting season just got extended... :-)
Na you ain't crazy! I am right there with you on having year round huntin. We have had hogs the past 10 years on our place and they haven't even come close to taking over or hurting our deer hunting. Yes they do eat some corn and root up sone food plots but I will take that so I can have year round hunting and tasty pork to eat. Our other place we have had pics of hogs two or three times a year for the past couple...they haven't taken over or showed any signs of numbers going up. Have fun with the new hunting!

If they do explode in population then its your job to cut the population down as much as you can! Enjoy it either way, I would.
