Jeremy if someone doesn't lease soon I might just change my mind and have 3 leases this year. I already got Permission from the boss!!!(Rhonda)

JTS it is easier and quicker to go to Austin, Llano, Mason, menard, and to the lease. It cuts off a lot of miles.

i would have to disagree. to many towns going the austin way. it might be less miles but it is easier to get on I10 and go.

370 miles from baytown to ft mckavett. i can make anywhere between 4 hrs 45 min - 5hrs 30min with stopping for fuel.

if your worried about fuel take less trips and make them longer hunts. same number of days hunted less trips.

i spend a month from late november to earlier december.

buy a cheap lease vehicle and i am sure you could find a few people to carpool with on a few trips.

Let's say that diesel used to be $1.90 a gallon, last trip we averaged 15 MPG (Bone's Double Cab F250) and it's 540 miles round trip to my ranch and back at an avg of $4.69 per gallon. $68.40 Round trip before, $168.84 Now. An extra $100 per trip plus the price of EVERYTHING ELSE that has been affected, it's not just $50 bucks difference anymore.

To just Make a Run to the Ranch now costs about $250-$300 per trip for us. It's getting really out of hand. Go down enough times per year and the trip now becomes 1/3 to 1/2 of the cost of the lease!

Believe it or not, people are getting priced out of their hunting now.

OK, back to the subject at hand...That looks like a great lease and someone needs to snag it fast!

                      I'll pass the word around.

                      J.P.

                      you know the lease price.

you know you're going to buy food, beer, drinks, corn, misc hunting crap, bullets/arrows, c'mere deer, buck licks, protien feed, and whatever else.

last year, let's say gas was $2 a gallon, now it's 3.60 a gallon.... if you're truck gets 17 MPG, and depending on mileage (500 mile round trip equals extra $50, 250 mile round trip = extra $25).

an extra 50 bucks for a weekend of hunting and it's absolutely off the table? I understand you're paying more for gas on a day to day basis, but if you're just looking at the cost of a lease, the "extra" always seems to cost more than the lease price.

                      come on guys...

i could make ot to the lease on a tank but i fill up in juction so i have a full take at the lease.

martin20 this sounds like a lease you need to get on.

Man I get so tired of people saying they need a lease, and would be all over this one BUT!!! I"ll tell ya"ll what stand a decoy deer in ur backyard, get in ur pecan tree and stare at him,and call that hunting, either get over gas prices or dont say u need a lease.

At 1280 miles i may be the most absentee lease member, but in the next year or two I WILL be jumping at an opportunity just like this. Just not for 2008. At 1280 miles I may not be able to make it to the lease every week but i will do my best to promote the quality of the herd and the spirit of the campfire.
