is it pretty easy to get the messaging working? I'm just thinking that 1000 photos in a month isn't very much.

Set up was not bad at all.

1000 per month wouldnt be enough if I was on my old lease, but set up on our place in Liberty Hill, I think it will work out. If it's not enough I am not under contract and can switch.

I didn't know you could add a line without equipment and avoid the contract.

I had the pre-paid $20 per month plan for unlimited messages on mine and wasn't using near that many so I switched to the $10 per month for 1000 messages plan. It works great. Love my Covert.

If you have good AT&T service you won't need the booster antenna. I only had 2 bars on mine with the regular antenna and it worked fine until the squirrels ate the antenna off of it. I have the booster antenna for it now but haven't put it back out yet.

After the BS that happened at the little place I hunt I really want to get a couple of these. Even if a thief gets your camera maybe it will text you some photos before it's turned off.

Seed and Feed was awesome. I ordered two of the Covert cameras from them on Black Friday and they were delivered yesterday.

That's faster than Amazon Prime.

To those who have used a Covert camera for a while, does the location feature get more accurate if you leave the camera on longer?

I received and activated my SIM card this evening.
I've had the camera on for about 30 minutes now and when I send the location command, it tells me the camera is almost a mile away. That wouldn't be very useful if camera was ever stolen/lost.

I have seen this issue with Lost my iPhone app, I assume it has to do with the number of cell towers it can communicate with.

I've noticed that with the iPhone app also, but it usually corrects itself within a few minutes. Normally the iPhone app is really accurate, within about 50 feet or so.
I was hoping the Covert would be a little more accurate.

I have the Go Phone Pre-Paid simm card. It's $9.99 per month for 1000 texts and no contract.

I guess I thought they could send you an email with the pics rather than a text? Can someone please clarify?

You can set them up to send email or texts or both. I only have 1000 texts per month on my cell plan so I have them sent to me as emails.

The way I understand it, and I may be incorrect, is you can have them emailed. You would need a data plan though, which is usually more expensive than an unlimited texting plan.

I already have family unlimited texting, so it only costs me an extra $10 to add a line.
Different situations may come out cheaper using data. It wasn't for me.
