The way I understand it, and I may be incorrect, is you can have them emailed. You would need a data plan though, which is usually more expensive than an unlimited texting plan.

I already have family unlimited texting, so it only costs me an extra $10 to add a line.
Different situations may come out cheaper using data. It wasn't for me.

Do you use a go phone plan or add a line to existing AT&T plan?

So if I have unlimited texting, I could have them emailed to me without a data plan on the camera without any additional charges?

I was under the impression that it would charge me a per use charge to email without a data plan.
Id rather have them emailed.

I use the go phone SIM card because my cell phones are through Verizon. There is no extra charge to have them emailed and you do not need a data package. That's what I do and it's $10 per month for 1000 pictures.

I know what you mean. I originally bought mine for my lease out West of Brady but it wouldn't work there so I brought it home and put it on my local lease.

Why do you say that? I would rather add a line with unlimited text for $10 if I had AT&T service already.

Yup and you can stop the service anytime if you don't plan to keep it out all year.

SIM for Basic and Quick Messaging Devices?

I didn't order mine. I went to one of the AT&T stores and told them what I wanted and they set it up for me there. That's what I would do if I were you.

Tell them you want a pay-as-you-go voice plan with an added texting feature package. Make sure they set up the texting package to auto-renew. They will set it up with a "dummy" phone in the store and it will be ready to go when you plug it in the camera.

When I first set mine up the store didn't set up the text package to auto-renew so when I re-filled the account the text package was not there. Without the text package it charges you .25 for every text so it ate up my $20 before I even knew what was going on. I called AT&T and threw a little fit and they credited me back for it and set it to auto-renew. No problem since then.

Also just a little tip...

I buy my refill cards from eBay. You can buy a $25 card on there for less than face value and there's no tax. They email you the card code almost instantly. Saves a little money.

I have unlimited everything on my plan. They would change it if I added a line. Had the plan since 1994
