Ha, kills me too every time and after the Saturday morning hunt, I find myself scouting all over the place finding all kinds of fresh rubs, scrapes, and tracks and drilling myself on where to put another setup!

If I ignored all sense, and did what my crazed mind wants to do when I go to that place, I would have a bow set up for every three acres probably but then I would have another huge dilemma, which one do I hunt?? It is never ending!

I would say 1 per 100ac (topography allowing) if you are just wanting to be able to feed/supplement. Then only use certain feeders through the season to concentrate them, then use them all to supplement right after season and towards the end of the summer to supplement. That said I would say it depends on the situation. Like if you are on a lease with other poeple its kinda hard to regulate that. If you have your own piece of property I would just scout and see where bedding areas are travel routes are and where their watering sources are. Then place feeders strategicly along travel routes between areas.

I have seen pretty good results with broadcast feeders out at strategic locations like I have mentioned above and then the larger self feeders for bulk amounts of feed to be feed during supplemental times I mentioned above and run the broadcast feeders with bulk feeders during the supplemental periods. Put bulk feeders at easily accessable places ie near troughs etc..

I don't think it should be based on acreage alone. On a larger place I would like to keep about 800 yards between feeders/stands. Too many feeders and your deer could be too spread out. It's a game of numbers.

I do not use feeders but usually hear about 5-6 going off in the distance.
2 on my place(other hunters) and at least 3 maybe 4 over the fence
