Needing all of the cpap experts advice. I started my cpap a week ago,and since the first night I feel totally dehydrated. I mean like full body dehydrated. I always drink a lot of water, so a lack of water is not the case. I just cant seem to get hydrated, no matter how much water and gatorade I drink. Any suggestions?

I run mine about 75%.....warm water cures all. If it is too cold, it does nothing but freeze out my nose and throat. In fact, it makes it worse than no water at all. Air over cool water has a cooling effect....like a swamp cooler. Air over warm water is greatness.
Crank it up. One other thing is to get some saline nose spray. It helps anytime your nasal passages feel dried out.
As far as you body feeling "dehydrated" due to the CPAP....that's all in our head...unless you are sweating profusely all night..

smart is right.
does yours go by numbers or percents? I just asked my wife about hers and her setting (she just got a new machine a couple weeks back) the machine before this one she set at 1 (0 being no humidity) she said two "drowned" her. (we do keep the house "cold" so that plays into it) she would have to empty/shake the "nose puff" and hose out. she did not get a manual with the new machine and she sometimes has to shake it out at night (i get to look for an on-line manual for a 1k new machine after i type this!! yea me!!) so she can change the settings. make sure to use distilled water and re-fill every night (and clean)
thanks! wasn't too hard to find her manual online .pdfLast edited by wassaw; 11-19-2013, 09:27 PM.

I keep mine turned off but can't stand if my water gets low or empty
