A "Is he legal?" thread with a twist...

Well, the rule says no "unbranched" antler, and a point has to be 1" from the centerline of the main beam... So what says the GS?

    Is that an "unbranched" antler?

Had this guy feeding for no less than 30 minutes, within 20 yards, yesterday evening. He's a scrawny deer, full of ticks. Would love to take him out of the herd, but even with 10x binoculars at 45 feet, I just couldn't make the call.

Not asking age. I "think" I can tell he's young. LOL. But thanks.

Just curious if you'd say he's legal, that's all.

I have zero issues shooting young deer. Just so you know.

Don't burn a tag on that one. Let nature sort it out

I think to the letter of the law he is legal. I also think he may be in a gray area and the wrong game warden could site you.

Im sure am glad I dont have to mess with this AR crap... makes it that much tougher to hunt.

That being said I agree about the grey area... I'd let him walk... as I dont care to be that close to a ticket for a bambi

If you let a youngster shoot it would you call it a three point, or a four point? I would have to call it a four point, so I guess I would not say it is unbranched. That is definately the deer the ar's ar trying to protect, and the reason a game warden might cite you.
