I shoot the ripcord on my bows............I like them a lot.....the arrow stays on the rest...can't tell about the quad ultra because I have never shot one.
Good question...I narrowed it down to those exact 2 as well. I found the Ripcord for sale which helped me make my decision. Don't have experience with QAD, but I've loved my Ripcord so far!
had a rip-cord for almost a year. target, 3-D and hunting. Easy to tune and stays put. it gets out of the way fast also. only thing i improved was a pad on the rizer to nock down the "thunk" due to the height (low) i needed to put it at on my bow.
customer service is good also.
I have used the QAD for about 3 years now...the best rest I have ever used. Never used the Rip-cord, but I think they have the same features. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
between those 2 i would say the rip cord, better manufacturing, i know the owner and he makes a great product, but id have to da the best rest on the market is the schaffer, hands down
I own a ripcord but think the Quad is a better rest. The Ripcord is like a tuning fork. It's real hard to keep it quite when you draw. I've shopped around and bought all kinds of different materials to keep it quite and finally found some real furry moleskin that works well for 100 shots or so. After that it eats though the moleskin and shoots a tad low. Other then that its an awsome rest. I always shoot it cocked cause it nice have your arrow ready to go.
A good buddy of mine Texastimetraveler shoots the quad. It comes with some perfect silent material for it. He likes it alot.
I guess you cant go wrong with either one but the qud is ready to hunt with out of the box.
wac m trac m- i have some stuff on my ripcord that is like thin suede kinda stuff. i have shot the bow hundreds of times with it on there and you cant hear it. go to a store where they sell fabric and stuff, they should have it.
