Looking for in the field SD card viewing advice

I've been using the moultrie viewer but its sucks. Screen isn't clear, drains batteries and you can zoom straight in but not "pan" so if what you're wanting to zoom in on is not in the center of the pic you can forget about it.

I've used a digital camera but the screens are just too small.

A laptop is too big to carry around in my truck and back pack.

I was going to buy a SD adapter for my iPhone but I've heard its really slow to look through a lot of pics?

So what are other options that I can look at?

    Thanks!

Get a small laptop from a pawn shop.

Between $50 - $80, cheeper than most dedicated viewers.

Well I use a laptop, just throw it behind the seat in a carry case and it is out of the way. I can drive up to all my cameras though so no help on the pack carrying unless you got a mini laptop or Ipad type device.

We have a Dell rugged ($5K laptop) that was bought for the ranch..and works extremely well and I dont have to worry about it getting covered in dust while riding in the ranger..

but I also use a SDCard reader/copier that plugs into my Samsung SIII.. and it works extremely well.
            and was only like $13..
copy the card to the phone..

I bought the SD reader for my iPad. If you have an apple device, here's my advice:
Download the entire card, scroll through the pics as normal, screen shot the ones you want to keep and then delete the rest. Easy peezy.

I have several SD cards and just change them out.

Then view while drinking beer in the recliner.

IPAD with Adaptor is the best.

If none of the above mentioned suits you then go buy one of those digital picture frams...

Is it really slow scrolling through pics on the iPad with adapter? Hate to buy one just for that..
