Don't know all the circumstances but WEAR THAT SAFETY HARNESS!

I'll raise you one and say "AND A LIFELINE." Most falls occur getting in and out of the stand when a harness typically is not attached to the tree. The "Lifeline" keeps you attached to the tree from the time that your feet leave the ground.

Prayers to this family. Its so easy to slip up and have this happen, plz it literally takes a few seconds with most harnesses to put on, If someone doesn't have one and wants one I think I have one or two that came with stands I will be willing to give them away so you have one!
