What would you do with a buck that has a broken rack?

What would everyone do if your target buck got a little too rowdy during the rut and broke some bone off? Would you give him a pass till next year? Maybe a Euro? Or have him mounted with war wounds, just the way you shot him? Or how about have the taxi fix him back up?

I would let him pass hoping that the neighbors would do the same

The best overall buck I have seen on our lease (until this morning) broke his main beam just past the brow tine, about 4 days after shedding his velvet. I saw him several times after that and let him go. This was 3 years ago and he hasn't been seen since.

Depends on how bad it is, real bad I'd pass

I would shoot him and grind the rest of the antlers off so he looked like a huge 6 year old spike, just to prove it could happen.

                    Or just pass on it.

Depends on if the place I'm hunting on is garenteed next year and if there are anymore close to his size.

Depends on what was broke off. A broken tine often just adds character to a rack IMO. I'd never consider having the taxi "fix" a broken point. If I don't want him on the wall just the way he was, I'll just pass. If the buck has massive damage (main, etc), then I would most likely give the old warrior a pass and hope to cross paths with him next year.
