    Midday movement

Always hear about how you should hunt during miday during a full moon.I still usually hunt early and late.I was just looking out my kitchen window at 12:15 pm and a nice 5 year old 8 point crossed my back yard looking for does I guess.Never seen him before.I have hunted midday before but didn't see much.May have to re-think that.Anyone else have success during midday?

The solunar tables show the full moon to have peak feeding times of ~1:30AM and ~1:30PM the next couple of days.
Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't...

I have killed the bulk of all of my big deer between 10 am and 2 pm! During the rut I have found that it doesn't matter with the moon, all day hunts are a must with the big boys moving constantly! Good luck!

Most of the hunters have the idea that deer won`t move at mid day, they like to be on stand before sunrise, wait for two or three hours and then go back to camp for a nap or lunch

While I hunt I prefer to be on the stand as much as possible and I`ve seeing lot of deer movement around 11am to 2pm. IME only on those really hot days deer will remain bedded in the shade and everthing alive will take a nap

Rut would be the best time to sit all day.

I don't have any deer movement (over all) proof that they DO NOT move during the middle of the day as they may, but I can tell you that they are not coming to feeders during the middle of the day. I have never had a feeder without a camera on it and all the animals come right after sunup and right before sundown. Same thing with food plots, they are there early and late but not during the middle of the day. I bet I have seen animals on camera at feeders 2-3 times per season during the middle of the day on the same feeders that have animals at them every single morning and evening.

I am going to hunt when the chances are best to accomplish what I am there for and the middle of the day is not that time on any property I have ever hunted

This past week I've had deer at my feeder between 9-12....minus the big buck that was there around 3am

Echoing Codie's comment - I only hunt at a feeder early or late. Very rarely have I seen a TC pic of a deer at a feeder during the middle of the day. It happens I suppose but if I'm going to hunt 10:00-2:00 it is going to be on a trail in or near the thick stuff or on a known travel route.

This is probably true, but one reason for that is most feeders are set to go off early in the morning and in the evening, so there is not much left too eat mid-day. If you set your feeder to go off at noon I bet you would see some deer then too.

I don't have a cage around my spinner plate, and squirrels knock corn off all day, I have a lot of pictures all summer of deer coming by at midday. Not as many as early morning and evening, but a decent number of deer. However, I agree that hunting trails might be your best midday option.

I have seen quite a few good deer killed during the middle of the day.

I've never shot anything in the middle of the day have seen a couple but they were always on the move and not real interested in anything other than moving around.

Over half of the deer that are killed on my lease are between 10 and 2.
