Measure twice. Cut once.

That may sound like a great idea right now....especially if your in luuuuuuv and want to impress her, but the novelty will likely wear off and that deer may well turn into your albatross.

Let her raise one, it is not hard. She and you both will learn a lot about them. If she gets tired of it you can release it or sell it as soon as it is weaned. My family has raised a bunch of them. Just get a goat bottle and milk replacer. Keep calf manna and pellets available as soon as it is old enough to mouth a little.

I think it's crazy. That is a pretty big commitment. It may live 10-15 years, one day you'll have to build a pen, get a permit or kill it.... and we all know that aint gonna happen! lol
