    NO EXCEPTIONS!!
****, we have agreed now 3 times in less than a month.

I have 2 back up releases (1 is true backup and the other is my practice/get sweaty release) and keep them on my bow also.

I also keep several releases in my archery tackle box in case a friend that shoots a compound forgets/loses their release. This has paid off several times!

Every time I'm done it gets strapped to my riser. No matter what.

          bro same advice.

I have about ten of the exact same release, you can't switch easily between releases and expect the same poi. I have back ups to my back ups and taught my son to shoot my same release so that we could move them around.

but more important the release has two locations. On your wrist or on your bow

I've done this. I now keep my release strapped to my bow and an extra in my archery backpack

Release 2 has a permanent residence in my archery bag.

Some of this advice about buying the same release is ridiculous.
You forget your primary at home, loose ,it what ever. Go buy a cheap freakin replacement and be done.

If you're serious about bowhunting, having at least 2 of the exact same release is as good advice as can be given.
Different releases can cause drastic differences in point of impact.

Me and my wife shoot the same kind if release so we have 4 total 2 stay on the handle of our bow case and two stay on the handle of our bags. Good luck with your hunt hole you get something.

                        Sorry but I disagree,
Having two releases is great advice, as similar as possible also good
But exactly the same not really important.
And I have been killing animals with a bow since about 1985-86

I simply said that it was good advice, due to the fact that different releases can cause differences in point of impact.
Having an identical back-up bow is not required either, but my back-up bow is identical to my primary.
I'm simply more comfortable when anything I grab feels the same.

A lot of us have been killing deer a long time.
