    Commute to work?

Interested on y'all's commutes to work, or thoughts on them. I'm looking at moving to New Braunfels, but I'll work a little over an hour south of there. Anyone have a long commute themselves? It's a great drive scenery wise, but how do y'all feel about 2 hours on the road every day?

I commute 55 miles each way. You get used to it. My advice is to buy a used beater car that gets decent gas mileage. No use putting those kind of miles on a nice vehicle.

Wimberley to Austin for 17 years now 82 miles a day. If you ever see my place you would know why I do it. I am lucky because I leave my place at 6 am and get off work at 3 pm miss most of the traffic.

Mine is 38 miles one way from NE Johnson county to N Fort Worth. I'm not going to lie, it sucks to be on the road for two hours a day. Also the $100 per week my truck drinks in diesel hurts too. I just figure it's part of the job and part of living out in the country. Sure I could sell my land and move closer to work, but I'm not going to.

I'm 52 miles one way, but get a smile on my face everyday when I turn onto my dead end road and see my house way back there, no more big city for me

Kingwood to Smith Street downtown Houston , 25 miles from door to door. Just got to time my driving time to steer clear of traffic.

15 miles & 15 minute commute. Love it. No traffic & helps me decompress a little before I get home.

I commuted from Brownwood to Brady for 5 years...hated it. Seemed like every week was a near miss Deer or head on idiot waiting to happen... had one guy cross the line one morning who got so close I could see he was READING a Louis L'Amour book propped on his steering wheel.

I can't imagine that commute at today's gas prices.

Yep, 120 mile round trip for me. Anywhere from 3-4 hours per day on the road. I don't like it, to put it mildly. Work in probably one of the most congested parts of Houston which just adds to the misery. Getting weekly paychecks are nice though.....

112 miles round trip for me in the DFW metromess. You do get used to it, but there are the days when there's a bad wreck or something and the hour and 1/2 turns to 2-3. Those days suck!!

I drive about an hour each way. You get used to it to a point. Worth it to me- money is good with the drive and I don't want to live in the city. A VW that gets 40mpg helps.
