    Deer Processor in Crosby

Ok I have always taken my deer to Jacksons and have been pretty happy with them up until last year. I took a big doe in and when I got it home I noticed I was short on my backstrap (like seven or eight small bags when I usually get way more). I have trusted them in the past that I was getting the same deer back that I dropped off but they have gotten so popular and grown so much now I'm not so sure. I shot a doe this past weekend and just wondering what the GS thinks. For those of you that use Jacksons should I use them again or try someone new? Possibly Maxwell's? Also has anyone ever had an issue with not getting back what they thought they should?

Used to use Ainsworth in Huffman before I moved and my parents still do. Never had any problems there! I highly recommend them!

I go to Bay Area Processing in Pasadena. I have never had a problem. Their sausages are amazing! Some jalapeño and cheese summer sasuage will get your taste buds goin. The only down side i can think of is there good and they know it. So there prices are a lil high, but I pay it every year...

I prefer Alan's in Huffman. Just north of 1960 off 2100. Great sausage, friendly guy. Very clean operation. Get your own deer back.

I agree my FIL has been going to Jackson's for several years and I liked it. So two years ago I used them ( always process my own) did not like it. Have not liked anything FIL has gotten since then either. Bay Area does good.

Alan's Sausage Kitchen in Huffman does a dang good job. I am normally a do it at home processor but I had a late season kill and the timing was not right for me to self process at home. Alan's did a great job, smoked sausage is really good, loved the deluxe burger with jalpenos and the jerky was really good too.

Average prices, really quick turn around and very clean operation.

We switched from Ainsworth to Alan's and won't be going back. His prices are better, not a lot but some, and we all prefer his processing much more. Also, I know several people who have had issues with Ainsworth and the amount of deer they take in vs what the get back.

Alan's pan sausage is the best. My wife and family love it. Ainsworth's...not so much. Last time I took meat to Ainsworth's he acted like he was doing me a big favor by coming in when he was busy with something else. Alan's "old timer" sausage is great.

Along with the others mentioned- Juniors in highlands does a great job as well.

I had my last run in with Ainsworth a few years ago when he turned my two deer away (both quartered on ice) before the Thanksgiving weekend because he was making room for the "Thanksgiving rush". I was dumbfounded, turning away business in order to make room for business at the expense of losing a repeat customer. Brilliance
