I am seeing bucks now that normally wouldn't show until December. When I had feed pens the bucks would just wait until dark and then jump in the pen for their corn.
How often do you run the feed route?

It just depends. Sometimes five days in a row morning and afternoon. Sometimes not for three weeks. It takes a little training but the deer will associate the sound of the vehicle and road feeder with food in a short amount of time.

I just started the hill country place about six weeks ago. It is coming along nicely with about 20 regulars showing up. I do have regular feeders going there along with food plots. I eventually want to do away with the corn feeders there as well.

          How???
I don't know if they can smell it or not, but they find it pretty quick.
And if hogs aren't a factor, put out a couple bags at a time. 2 weeks later, deer will still filter thru that area checking!!
Unfortunately, I am working on Ft Hood for an IOU right now so I don't know when I will get back to Waskom to corn or hunt. Thanks for the answer.

From what I have read up on minerals. You should only need one rock for the 30 acres. I would keep one out year around, you will probably need to replace it every 3 months or so, as it gets smaller the more they use it.

BTW, you might not know you have hogs on your property, but put out 50lbs of corn, and if it's gone in a day or two, then you got pigs. But it's only $7 to find out. BTW look for prints around the corn. Pigs are more rounded and deer more pointed.

              Good luck.

I would spread some corn and leave a mineral licking block close, deer like those things and last far more than corn, if you can lure deer to the corn they`ll also find the rock and if they continue coming looking for more at least they`ll have the block

Those deer cane liquids will also attract hogs and hogs tend to scare deer

Thanks for the advice. What kind of block is best? Trophy Rock, Deer Cane block, block from Academy?

OK, I'm gonna throw in my two cents. Hand corn works for me extremely well, especially with deer that have been pressure around feeder setups. I know the wildlife biologists don't like it, but plain old salt will draw deer better than any other product I've tried. Deer cane has worked pretty well for me, but not like salt. If I want a hurry up lick, I run down to the dollar store, get four boxes for a couple of bucks and pour 'em out. Doesn't take the deer long to find it and the salt will work into the ground, drawing deer for a long time.
