    New bow?

I posted awhile ago about shooting different bows and not liking mine afterwards. I bought my Diamond Core December 2012 with the idea of getting back into bow hunting. Well since obtaining my bow I have put several hundred arrows threw it and considered it the best possible bow for me....until I shot the Mathews Creed, Hoyt Spyder and recently the Prime Impact. Now my bow feels more like a toy than a killing machine. Well long story short my wife wants a bow so I'm giving her mine and going after a dream machine. Not trying to start a thread war but can you guys tell me why you shoot what you shoot? I'm leaning towards the three brands listed above but I'm open to suggestions on other brands. I bought the first bow because I was told it was a great beginner bow and for the price I couldn't say no but now I want a bow I will use for a long long time and can make it my own.

I've shot all three of the ones that I mentioned. I was just asking what yalls experience had been with each.

I haven't shot the hoyt but that creed is one bad dude. That would be my choice.

Cant go wrong with any if the ones mentioned. Creed gets my vote. Sweeeeet shooting bow. Really quite and fast. All are good though these days. Good luck finding her!

Thanks, I'm really at a loss here. This next bow will be my trusty rig for a long long time. I just don't want to make the wrong decision and have regrets. I'm leaning towards the Hoyt but at the same time the Mathews and Prime are both great bows. Each one seems to offer different draw cycles, speed and noise.

I bought a Creed and I chose it because the draw cycle felt like none other to me. It means a lot to me because I always hunt sitting down and there is nothing like a smooth drawing bow while sitting. It is deadly accurate as well. I really and truly believe that I am a better archer now because of this bow. I have put about 200 arrows through it and I can't wait to get my first kill with it.

not to sidetrack, but have you shot any of the bowtech, bear, or elite lines?

Tough to cough up the cash for decking out that kind of bow but, you will have it for a long time. I tested 2 or 3 of the top named bows and went with mathews. Having that said shoot each one and see what feels best. You wont be disappointed with any of them.

I really like my zxt! It was about 120$ less than the elite, but man the elite is a sweet bow!

I started on the left and shot every bow all the way to the right. I ended up setting my mind on the Creed. I went to CCR and they sell the Hoyt Charger. I tried that and liked it even more than the Creed. Two stores and twenty bows later, I bought the Charger. Price was perfect too. My advice, take the brand name completely out of the equation. Never ask by brand name. Just fire each one until you find one you like. Then after you buy the one that fits you best, ask what the name of it is.

I have not shot any of the bowtechs nor the elites. Bowtech owns Diamond so I assumed they would perform about the same. I have shot a bear motive 6 once but did not care for it. I wont lie the looks of the elite and the Bowtechs are sexy but assumed they weren't as good quality as the other two brands. I guess I'm about to get flamed for not knowing. Honestly this is what I'm looking for.

A bow that is lightweight, dependable, durable, has an AtA of less that 34", draw length of 29", weight of 70#, smooth draw cycle, the less noise the better, and some serious speed. However I do not want something that feels like a toy in your hand like my Core does. The prime, mathews and hoyt all had something I liked but I am open to trying a different brand like Bowtech and elite, any particular models?

Unlike mathews you won't get many people saying to go with prime because most probably haven't shot them but they are very nice bows. Elites are excellent as well. You really can't go wrong on any of the high end bows as long as its one that feels good to you.

If you get the time and are close enough I would recommend going over to Kerens to Rednek Booda and shoot what Jerry has to offer. One of very very few shops that won't try to persuade you to a certain brand and very knowledgable about every bow he has.

i understand your concept with bowtech/diamond and would also be skepitcal. but, mathews owns mission and they are on completely different levels. im not trying to push bowtech by any means, but dont lose faith.

best thing about elite is their LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY. go to an elite dealer and give em a run. theyre plain awesome.

MY experience guides me to the notion that my older, used bowtech d340 was the best fit for me. are better bows available? of course. buy and shoot what you like best.

all are gonna be expensive, but all will last a long time. its like asking f-150, silverado, or ram. its up to the user.
