I don't have any personal experience with mechanicals. With that being said, there is no way I would shoot them through mesh. It is too risky, and you risk wounding an animal.

Don't do it! I tried this weekend with a new Rage 2 blade mechanical at 30 yards and it completely through it off and made a horrible shot in the front foot.

I will never ever make this mistake again as this was going to be and should of been my first deer with a bow.

You could get lucky and the blades won't deploy.

Use the search function and ask the same question. Lot's of previous discussions about this. In a few words, if the netting is tight as a drum, it works just fine.

It all depends on the thickness and strength of the mesh. If you are even thinking about trying it, be sure and test shoot first, it's only fair to the animal. That being said,
I have done it several times with no issues and good results. But, I usually shoot a Hellrazor when shooting through the mesh.

I shot through the mesh last year at a buck, and the arrow came out of the mesh going at about a 45 degree angle up and away. Needless to say, the buck never came back. I won't shoot through the mesh again.

The bow is covering up the hole on the doe. Best blood trail I've ever seen.

I still shoot the old Rages with a small rubber band used for braces over the blades. Do they work? Ask this 10 pt. 27 yards, Rage through netting, went about 85 yards. Like I said, I've taken turkeys, pigs and deer through netting with a Rage. I have 100% confidence in that set up as long as the netting is extremely taunt. Set up a target and try it yourself. Don't take anyone's word on it.

Hit him on the opposite side, no exit. Hit was a little bit high, took out the top of both lungs and bunch of rib damage. It did bend one of the blades pretty badly. Body cavity was full of blood because of the high it and no exit. The entry wound was very wide. But, even without a pass through, it did the job very handily and through netting.
