Dad calls them french mulberries, don't know any other names for them besides beauty berry.

I have seen one with white berries on it but it was long ago and I don't remember where

        Calicarpa americana

Y'all be careful around the ones with white berries. ABB can have white berries but so can poison oak which is highly toxic.

Uh oh! I think I might have an idea for a "Beauty Berry" food plot! Watch out deer, here I come with beauty berry seeds in tow!

Its that time again. I have already heard a couple folks wondering why the deer slowed down on corn this week.

I was just pointing these bushes out to Colton over the weekend when we were golfing. I meant to go back in the woods behind my house to see if I had any back there. Be back shortly....gonna do a live berry hunt.

I've got bushes the size of a 4 bedroom home on my place and the deer don't seem to touch them. I may have to look a bit harder this year.

Just road down this trail I corn and the sides are thick with AB bushes. A few are turning purple but most are just coming on. Got hogs coming in with the deer now. Haven't seen hog sign back behind my house in about 5 years.
