I have a '12 and absolutely love it. It has REALLY good power for a gasser and the torque is diesel like...is it as powerful as a diesel...no...but its all I need and I can park it in my garage and parking garage at work. Probably putting a gooseneck on it soon to haul a 16-20 foot gooseneck cattle trailer. I would buy the same truck again in a NY minute.

They've been out long enough that any major problems would have made waves. From what I've read, it has plenty of power and "decent" gas mileage for a 1/2 ton truck. My only question is will that turbo-charged v6 last 200K miles or be over-worked after 100K.
Since it is not a diesel I have no intentions of keeping it that long

I have a '13 4x4 XLT with the ecoboost and 3.55 gears. I rolled 13000 miles over the weekend on a drive to Galveston. With the 36 gallon tank, I drove down there and back on a tank and had well over a hundred miles to go on that tank. That put it at 18.8 mpg for that trip.

It pulls my trailer with mowing equipment and/or Arctic Cat Prowler with ease, but the mileage really drops with a trailer.

The AC is a little weak, but gets the job done.

I have been driving 3/4 ton 4x4 Dodges for the last 18 years and the last was an '05 2500 with a chipped Cummins that I had for 8 years and put 199,975 miles on. I figured I'd be unsatisfied with any gas motor, but the Ecoboost has not let me down.

Mini hijack but still related. Anyone running chips or aftermarket exhaust? Im reading a lot about 15-30 hp with an exhaust swap.

I own the ecoboost and have friends that own the 5.0L. My advise is go with the 5.0L. It's gets just as good gas mileage as mine does and has more power. Sure mine will smoke a 5.0 in the short distance but that is not what I bought a truck.

Great choice! My dad has been a Ford mechanic for over 20 years and he loves these pickups.

I really like mine 2012 XLT 4x4 Texas Edition. I'm not sure if the link below will work, and I know it's Ford propaganda but if its half true it's still pretty impressive. If the link dosn't work search youtube for F150 Ecoboost Torture Test. (It's around 20 min. Long)

Wasn't with him and I'm not anywhere near a mechanic, but as I recall his description it involved the engine shutting down and not restarting. Twice while going 70 on the highway and once while accelerating onto a highway. All in the first 10k miles.

I just bought a 2013 FX4 5.0 and its nice. Dealer gave me the deal I wanted plus more than I asked for on my trade. I remember reading here people having some sort of issues with the ecoboost. Plus I received more rebates on the V8.
