Test Drove a few Bows Today

I went and test drove the Elite Synergy and Hoyt Vulcan today.

    Hoyt Vulcan:
    29" draw @ 70lbs
This bow was very nice to shoot. The draw was very smooth. The shot quiet. The new Fuse string silencers (redesigned) do a great job as well as the string suppressor. It drew more smoothly than my trykon but the shot felt the same. Good grip as always on a Hoyt. All around a great bow.

    Elite Synergy:
    The Birth certificate said 29" @ 70 with a 6gr per pound arrow (i think) 329fps
The one I shot was set at 29.5" draw. This bow was BLAZIN FAST!!!! It out shot the Hoyt IMO. Especially speed wise. It was suprisingly quiet without having string silencers or the STS. It sat in your hand upon release was VERY SMOOTH to draw (just a tad smoother than the Vulcan, but not much) Very clean lookin bow. The range stopped when I shot it just to watch and see how fast it was. The grip was to be desired, but I am going to have Scott make me a custom grip anyway. They had a guy come in shooting 58lbs @ 28" and was getting 282fps with a 400gr arrow.

If it is as good or better than my Elite E-500 then I bet it is awesome!

I have owned many Mathews and competed with a Hoyt for a year and it is amazing to me how a bow as fast as an Elite can be so dead at the shot and quite to boot.

I'm loving the changes the market is doing with modern technology..Its amazing how much compounds bows have changed since 1990.
          Thanks for the info Rattler!

Shot the Elite at Viking Archery. They will be receiving another shipment on Monday. Scott told me that the string Supressor wont be available till early next year so I plan on getting mine in Jan or Feb and I am gonna order it with one.

They had one all set up for a Woman that was 27" @ 50lb and I bet she is gonna love that bow! As I said both were GREAT bows but the Elite takes the cake by a couple of bites.

Rattler, good to see a TBHer going to see Scott now that he is back down there running that shop.

              Two questions (off topic)...

1 - Is Rick still working with him a couple of days a week?

2 - If so, any talk of them getting Scott's old Grey Goose longbow forms (which I think Rick owns) dusted off and back in production?

              Sorry for the hijack...

Yep Rick is up there on thurs-sat. And yes Rick has the old Grey Goose Longbow forms. His last thought was to do them and have them be a "store" bow.

Rattler, how did you like the new Vector Cam and 1/2 on the Vulcan compaired to the regular cam and 1/2 on last years bows and how do you like the Vulcan compaired to othere Hoyts. I am gonna go and shoot it as soon as i get time.

I didnt even shoot the Vectrix, cause with my short draw 27.5-28" I knew the Vulcan would be better for me and the fact I shot a bow with a 5 3/4" brace height for about 4 years. The Vector Cam 1/2 is a TON better than the regular Cam 1/2 and the Zepher cam 1/2. Smooth, pretty good wall, and more speed. Its just that the Elite Synergy is just as smooth (just a tad more), better wall, and lot more speed. And it is Cheaper than the Hoyt!

Taxi, when I get my Elite....you wanna put up mount that mine is faster???? I have shot fast bows including the tribute, allegiance, and others but nothing has shot like this Elite did.

Ragin', the grip on the '07 Bowtechs ... blows!
They didn't take the time to smooth out the exposed part of the riser and it's not smooth like it should be. I know it's a minor thing ... but you caint go smoothin' out that metal without messin up the camo!

I think I'll replace the grip on my '06 pretty soon!
