used railroad ties would work if your wanting to get it a little higher off the ground and would probably be cheaper and last longer

See if you have a pipeline construction company somewhere around you. They have oak skids that they use when stringing pipe. Most of them are heavy and will last for years.

I used pipeline skids over the windows on this blind and coated them with pinofin to seal them. STRONG as a bull and will last longer than I will be on this earth.

Come to Killeen and see me at the lumber yard. We have a cull area in back and have a few(yesterday) 6x6 treated post that would make for good skids. Ir bolt a couple 2x8 together and then bolt them to the stand

Good idea about scab 2x8 em together on the floor joists and then screw the skids on em. Alright. I will stop by some time next week.

Pm your way with my text number. Much appreciate, sir.

I have for sure. I built it so I could just wake up and walk 10' and start hunting. There is a real advantage with not walking in while it's dark in the morning. You don't spread scent around.

I do have to admit that I have shot pigs while I was in my underwear after getting up to take a leak at night. I have enjoyed it for sure.

I have 1 more to build and it's gonna be a split level or 2 story kind of blind. I'm not building it to sleep in but if I'm getting the right deer on trailcam at it, I'll grab my sleeping bag!
