We had a good second split opener although we got beat to our first spot. We had pre-scouted another spot during the first split but hadn't been back since. We setup where the birds were earlier and it panned out. It was a diver honey hole as we shot a mixed limit each with only one shoveler and the rest being mainly redheads and scaup with an odd buffie thrown in. Should make a helluva pot of gumbo for when the next front hits!

Hunting on a stock tank in Webb county I the morning. Covered up with Pintails, gadwalls, teal and a few mallards last weekend when I scouted it. Lab will get a workout in the morning. Feels wrong to be duck hunting during the rut down here but who know what might show up at the water.

Can't wait until tomm morning...even if it will be hot, at least we should have some wind.
