Y'all should try Classen and Buck for those classes. Yes you pay $40 but "rumor has it" you can complete an 8 hour course in about 2 hours. That's how I did Special Investigative Topics, Federal Law Update, and Cultutal Diversity.

I've tried online classes, just never could get through them. I'm weird but I really enjoy going to a class room course. Guess I like to meet people and watch videos.

I did too. It took a while to get them for me also.

I'm the same way, I definitely learn more in the classroom setting and I enjoy classes. Plus, lets be honest, sometimes I'd rather be in class learning than sweating bullets in that car for 12 hours that night. Its nice to have a break sometimes. Online classes are a great option though if you have to have a class real quick and don't have time to attend. I'm glad we have the option for most subjects except for CIT.

I would never take a CIT course online!

My question is, after I complete the courses how do I get my intermediate? Do they send it to me automatically or do I have to apply for it? Do I do it or does my department?

                  Thanks!

35 bucks and they mail it to you. You can do it over the innerwebs. Got my advance in October, waiting on years of service for a MPO

Not sure, but I doubt it. The same thing has happened w/ quite a few if the guys at work. I wasn't really concerned about it either way. I just figured they'd show up when they show up. And, they did.
