I agree with you to an extent, It's hard for me to get out what Im trying to say by typing. I do pick a spot, but I don't need a physical spot, I see the spot in my head. Besides, in the block target n my picture above, I cant see that center dot from 50 yards if I was just standing there looking at it, let alone through my peep and pin. I see the square, I pick out what I believe to be the middle of the square, and release.
Sorry, Im known for getting too deep for most people.
And who needs a tracking dog when you're shooting slick tricks?
Lol, I hear ya, I don't see a spot so to speak but pick a tuft of hair or a general little area in the armpit. If I miss it's not by much and still in the vitals...most likely. No worries, targets and hunting are different, Ive seen some awesome 3D shooters eat tag soup from weak knees in the deer stand!
I try to shoot enough to feel comfortable, but there is a big difference between target shooting and hunting. You only get one shot hunting. To me once you're sighted in and have your form down, I like go shot one or two arrows a couple of times a day and then look at my group over a few days to judge how I will shoot in a hunting situation.
