    Practice ?

Well just curious how often you guys and gals practice in preparation for opening day? I dusted of the bow after about a month or so and set up my thirty yard target. Flung some warm up arrows and then I shot this 5 arrow string... Two borderline shots with one a definite flyer... What do y'all think???

Honestly, with that group I wouldn't shoot past 20. If im not dialed in to at least a tennis ball size group I wont shoot at that yardage. Big difference between targets and the real thing. I shoot year round and really get to business about Sept 1st.

I shoot about 2 or 3 times a week and fling about 30 each time. Feeling pretty good about my grouping.

Same as above, I usually give myself an inch per 10 yards as far as groupings go, and on wt wont shoot past 40-50. I shoot year round and at most I am off for a couple weeks.

If the flyer was a quartering away shot then it would be a money shot

Finally got the new to me bow sighted in today and got it flinging some arrows. I practice from 50-60 yards until a week or so before opening day. This forces me to aim at different points on the target once I start shooting 40 and less. Shooting at the same point once you get in close after shooting at longer distance will usually end up in a lot of arrow replacing.

This is my second 50 yard group today after getting it dialed in.

I make it a point to shoot every day, and if for some reason I cant its atleast every other day. When I have time to shoot I will Shoot 10-15 arrows for each pin 20-60

Also, what was your aiming point at the target? If it's the yellow circle, it looks like the "best" shot was actually the flyer.Looks like your windage needs adjusted. Not a terrible group on the right side.

Something I also try and shoot at are roofing tacks with the 3/4-1'' orange plastic tab out to 40. Aim small miss small right? I wish the React sight had a different pin size tho.

Yup, aiming at a tiny dot will shrink your group size.

I dont know that aiming at an actual smaller dot will increase accuracy. Trying to hold the pin on something so small, causes you to focus more than you need too. This causes a lot of pin movement because you're worried about trying to keep the pin on a tiny dot down range, which leads to a longer hold, and more of a chance to tire, which in the end will result in a shot that could be off due to your technique falling apart.

I shoot tighter groups if I just pick spot on a blank target, put the pin on it, and let her fly. To me, its all about practicing at longer distances.

Besides, the game we chase do not have dots on them.

To each their own of course.
