Cellular Trail Cameras - which one?

Last year I ran a UM562 and also a Covert Black Ops. I'm with Verizon for my cell phone service so I had to use AT&T gophone unlimited text plan for $19.99/mo for the game cameras. Was very impressed with the battery life and reliability of both of the cameras. They are both far better cameras than anything else I've ever used.

So now I'm getting ready to buy a couple more of these cameras and just want to make sure that there are no new major developments that I need to be aware of or new cameras I need to consider before buying? Looks like the UM562 is running about $329, as is the 2013 model of the Covert Black Ops, and the Panda is running about $339 - anyone find any better deals?

Anyone tried the Stealth Cam Drone? It has some appeal since it can be used with Verizon but at $599 MSRP I can't get past the sticker shock myself...

I don't know for sure but I read that the Covert 2013 model has GPS tracking ability in case it's stolen. As far as price, search each one on eBay and see what they are running on there.

Following this one. Bowslayer you are correct about the GPS feature in the 2013 covert cameras.

Found this one for $317.99 with free shipping

I am going to put one on our farm in SE Iowa. Our cell service is thru T-Mobile and I-Wireless in Iowa is T-Mobile. I have about 2 or 3 bars of service thru I-Wireless at our place. Does anybody know anything about T-Mobile's plan for an extra texting/email SIM card ? We are headed up to Iowa Labor Day weekend and I want to get camera, sim, solar panel ready to go.

Pretty sure Tmobile has a plan just about identical to AT&T Gophone. I want to say it may even be a little cheaper. It's been a year since I checked into it but I believe that my preference was Tmobile based on price between it and Gophone. Tmobile signal just wasn't sufficient in the areas that I hunt so I had to go with the Gophone.

Hit up Bo_Wayne on here. He used the Covert in Oklahoma last year and had good results. I have been thinking about trying it myself.

I've read several of these threads and it sounds like none of these are good for Verizon? You have to get an ATT&T Phone with texting plan?

I use covert. Add a line on our famialy plan for 10.00 a month . Works pretty good.

So is the Covert Black Ops the "one"? Or are the HCO cameras any good?

No coment on which one is the best but the cell camera ideal is as cool as it gets.
My lease is 9 hours away from me. every day I get pictures of what is wandering around my stand. Too cool

You have the HCO. Does it require AT&T as well?
