Saturday morning we headed out to hunt a larger water hole (I called it a tank) to go after Zebra. This sit was quite due to the wind BLOWING pretty hard. We had a few animals come in (mostly Kudu Cows, young warthogs and some weird goose thing) but spent most of the time shooting guinae fowl.

We had a heard of Impala on the tree line about 5-600 yds away. They would just feed back and forth for a couple hours. Then like a light switch they started heading our way. They held up about a hundred yards out and just stood there. A few minutes went by and 1 lonesome doe decided to come get a drink. The next animal right behind her was the only mature ram (23 1/8") in the group. We got the camera adjusted and he started drinking water quartering to me. My PH hit record and I let the arrow fly 40 yds and they arrow once again blew through the animal coming out covered on the other side. He only made it about 60yds and piled up in a big dust storm. I unfortunately only have the initial shot on video as my PH was in disbelief that I killed him. He was to busy Dropping the "F" bomb as they so frequently use and he didn't follow the animal. It was worth it just to listen to him.

We called in the tracker Cias to come load up the animal to go skin, took some pictures and got back in the blind. 3 animals down 4 more to go.

Sooooo any WHooo meanwhile back in the blind. The wind is still a blowing and my PH is shivering like a dog poooing a peach pit. We decide to build him a little campfire to warm up.

Before I new it I think he had every stick inside and within arms reach outside the blind burned. We sat for a while with the occasional warthog and cow of some sort coming in briefly to get a quick drink of water. Finally about 1hr before dark we had Blesbok coming in. The headed towards the water differently then the other animals so we tried to get the camera adjusted and what not. After that circus we got the camra on the only ram in the group just as he was full of water and moved off. He stopped just on the edge of the tank **** at 50 yds with the only wild branch off some tree covering his vitals. Just as he takes another step to clear his vitals I start to draw and settle in. That's when I noticed the very distinct Mohawk. I quickly said zebra and let down. We once again readjusted the camera so we could make ready for the shot. They finally came down to water with the one I wanted in a unobstructed shooting lane once again quartering to me at the exact spot the Impala was standing not hours before. I quickly settled in the red 40yd pin and touched the trigger. The Zebra was hit just about perfect. As it ran over the **** we bailed out to watch it. Once we got to the **** I wish I had my camera as there was probably 100 animals and probably 7 different species all watching as the Zebra bled out. It was like something off a nature video with animal running around everywhere but not running off until the zebra fell down and its legs kick straight up. The 4 blade Grizz Trick had done its job again. This was the first animal I haven't blown through and it broke my arrow when it rolled over.
