I have told someone who told me they could get it for some stupid low price, "please tell me where you are getting this, so we can buy some for the dealership at this price too".

When we already have the lowest price on the car (which we do and we back it up ) Why would need to haggle?


I hate haggling for cars and would not work there if we were a traditional haggling dealership. I had a dealership in Dallas refuse to give me my keys back and I had to dial 911 to get them to finally give them back

I really like that- I'll use it.

Send him an email that you raised the price $100, but since he had expressed interest and drove out to your place, so there's no hard feelings you'll honor your original price for a cash deal.

I buy/sell/give away stuff on CL a lot. I've never had a horror story. I couple of times I drove across town and somebody sold it before I got there, but that happens.

I make sure if people come to my house, 1. the item is on the driveway, 2. the garage door is closed, and 3. the nearest bathroom is at the Burger King about 2 miles up the road on the left.

hate selling stuff. Always got to deal with people... Once sold a 38' sailboat and the guy came from England to look at it. Then offers 1k less. Hello, you just flew from England and rented a car to drive out here. I already know you are going to buy it for what I listed it at.
