Good luck, Fred! I'm considering applying for RC too but it's so close to our ranch that its like hunting the same land.So I always veer away from it even though one of my old buddies applies for that hunt EVERY year and usually does well. He shot a 164 out there a few years ago. I'm told there's quite a few bruisers in there so I always consider it.
On a side note, I was going to apply for Kerr again (that place is awesome!) but they're doing some tagging of bucks this year that hunters can not shoot. Decisions decisions...

Rc is a tuff place to hunt if the weather is not in your favor. Our hunt was last year peak of the rut. It was hot and very windy. The cover is very thick in most areas. They stick pretty close it. it wasa slow hunt for everybody. Richland creek devides the "Forbidden Zone" and the Type II management area. Believe me the deer know where they are safe and where they arn't. Not trying to bust your bubble, because there are some bruisers there, just don't expect to see the same numbers on both sides of the creek.
