Any tricks for lowering cholesterol?

I get me fishoil and Co Q10 from an internet company called Bestvite...fish oil is cheap but there seems to be hundreds (if not thousands) of brands. It's hard to chose which one is best but my Dr says just to pick one because they are all the same....I take 1000mg each morning and evening....
