Ours is in the shop now getting some warranty work done and we are having them add a 13,500 BTU unit to the back bedroom. They are going to run it through the ducting but not on the thermostat. We will have a 2nd power cord on the outside but it will only be a 15A. Any problems I should be looking for?

Ducted AC in travel trailers seems to take away a lot of the effectiveness of the unit.

We bought a self contained unit that I use with my dads. It captures water and all- looks like little porcelain heater but is ac. Just vent to exhaust out window. Can put in bedroom or living or or use here at home when power is out
I run cord out window I'm venting out and plug directly into park extra plug so not tripping camper breaker

We bought a new toy hauler about a month ago and just had the third A/C (roof) installed in the garage a week ago. Took it out over the weekend and I was amazed at the difference. The third A/C is wired with a separate plug on the outside that I plugged into the 15 amp power pole at the RV park (20 amp breaker on the inside). We used a 12 gauge extension cord from the RV to the pole. Three A/C's running kept the RV at 72 degrees all weekend. It's 45 feet, with high ceilings, so I was pleasantly surprised. They were able to add a thermostat for us so the kids don't mess with the controls, but it is not connected to any duct system. I'll probably look at sealing off the ducted vents into the garage so they push even more air into the living area. Well worth the additional investment IMO.
