If anyone is interested in a boat based black bear hunt, those are GREAT and priced under 4k all in. Homer ocean was running a 50% off deal earlier this year. Someone got a steal!

Of course traveling to new surroundings is a big part of the overall experience as are the adventure & camaraderie, no doubt about that. I was just trying to point out a viable option within the hunters said means, that’s all.
I think we all have reservations about big hunts and rightly so, but this operation looks like the real deal. Look on the site yourself, the Rez encompasses 850,000 acres, they have last year’s photos, and the prices & fees are clearly spelled out. Nothing looks fishy to me.
I posted that the hunts ranged from 6-8k; I’m sure the bulls I posted are some of the best that have been taken which of course put them at 8k.
They have a Rez hunt that runs 6-7k; bulls score between 270 & 340 with an average of 328 @ around 80% success.
They also have another hunt on a 14,500 acre high fence place that is 8k with bulls scoring 320-400+ with success rate approaching 90%. Did a majority of the biggest bulls come off this land ....probably so.
Oh I failed to mention the guide fee for the elk hunts runs about 1,200 bucks.
Anyway……Good Luck on your hunt JT whatever you decide upon.

For 7k, I would do pronghorn or maybe Nevada mulie.
Caribou rocks for a bowhunter, and you have a chance for wolf, wolverine etc and can fish.
The moose hunts are too expensive at 7k. GOOD elk are too expensive unless you drew and are just paying a guide.
Black bear hunts are in that class. Wolf hunts.... Mountain Lion hunts are right in there.
Lots of options.

Black bears and mtn lions should be between 3 and 5k unless you're planning of chasing a monster like POW bears or the big Utah lions
You're dead right about they caribou. I keep thinking Jamie and I may plan another hunt for them but a different subspecies. They are made for bowhunting
